It’s great to meet you!
I am a true believer in the power of lifelong learning and the magnificence of people. I have taken a networked approach to my work, building a diverse and interconnected matrix of educational, economic (focusing on local economics and placemaking), and philanthropic partnerships. My passions include organizational dynamics, development, and culture. It is my working philosophy that resituating the power and money in the hands of those directly affected and who are working on the frontlines of movements is the most impactful and just course of action.
By ensuring that our organizations serve the people within and around them, we allow for the most effective use of resources, both human and material, guarantee that our missions are fully realized, and that we are able to do the most good in the world.
Based in Grand Rapids, Michigan on the ancestral land of the People of the Three Fires: the Ojibwe, Potawatomi, and Odawa, my work spans the U.S., South America, and Europe.
Professionally, I am currently based at Ktisis Capital where I serve as a strategy and organization advisor, researcher, and project manager for a diverse mix of individuals and foundations. I work primarily with high and ultra-high networth individuals, families, and private foundations on formulating their giving strategies. This ranges from supporting a family in their climate & Indigenous funding across the Americas, assisting an Italian family in their journey to launch a grassroots philanthropy strategy, and to political donor organizing in Michigan. I manage the Ktisis Capital communications portfolio and work to develop strategy that advances the work of the firm and our partners.
I serve as coordinator, strategist, and communications manager for the West Michigan Progress PAC where we mobilize resources to build and deepen progressive political power across West Michigan. We support inspiring candidates in local and state elections - from local school boards to state legislative seats and statewide races - and through investments in the regional political infrastructure - including candidate pipeline support and supporting organizations that educate the electorate on important ballot initiatives and races.
I am also on the faculty at Grand Valley State University, teaching courses on belonging and inclusive & visionary leadership in the Integrated, Religious, and Intercultural Studies Department of the Brooks College of Interdisciplinary Studies.
I previously held the role of project specialist for university and community enrichment in the Office of the President at Grand Valley State University. In that role, I facilitated projects that strengthened the town-gown and community relationships, helping to center Grand Valley as the preeminent place-based regional institution in Michigan. I led projects and program teams focused on connecting communities to each other and to the university, donor relations and stewardship, and the University’s community sponsorship program where we supported historically marginalized and underrepresented communities, arts and culture organizations, environmental initiatives, and education focused programming.
